Announcements and Communications:
- The next meetings of the Conesus Town Board will be held on June 4 and
June 18, 2019.
- The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance has notified the Town of
Conesus that our assessor has met the stipulations for Cyclical Aid to
Municipalities for 2018 by completing a reappraisal of the 2018 assessment
roll. While we are eligible for up to $5
per parcel (1630 parcels), the aid has been reduced to 54.03% of the maximum
eligible. We will be receiving $4403.45
from the Office of State Comptroller for payment.
- The NYSDEC has notified the Town of Conesus that they will be applying
an insecticide to 25 acres of Hemlock Canadice State Forest and surrounding
area to combat hemlock wooly adelgid, an invasive species that is present in
the area. This invasive species is
likely to kill most of the hemlock trees in our area. This insecticide will assist in keeping the
hemlock trees alive while scientists continue to work toward a long-term
solution. A negative SEQR declaration
for the planned treatment was attached.

Town Hall Maintenance and Improvement:
- The Conesus Town Hall, originally
called the Conesus Amusement Hall and built in 1888, was listed on the National
Register of Historic Places in June 2005.
Conesus Town Historian, Brenda Eddy, applied for a grant for funding of
a 2’x3’ metal sign and post through the William G. Pomeroy Foundation to
commemorate the designation on April 3, 2019.
The grant for $1100 was approved on April 30, 2019. The next steps involve ordering the sign from
Sewah Studios in Marietta, Ohio and installing the sign on the Town Hall
property sometime later in 2019.
